Crazy spring 2nd part
We will start to see the first flowers in March or even at the end of February which is common if the temperature is warm (like last year).
We usually remove this first flowering manually looking for a second flowering in April and May with higher temperatures and consequently better ‘jell’.
This year with soft temperatures nearly until the end of May (18º-21º during day and 12º-15º at night) mixed with windy days every day in last months has meant that flowering is too late and very limited.
From the Association of Spanish Tropical Fruit Producers located in Vélez-Málaga, the day 07.18.2013 the local press notified the fear of a reduced harvest of subtropical gathering with a reduction up to the 70% of the production.
